Hi guys,

I am planning on running the complete VS Series 2 wiring loom in my LC with the VS 5L motor, from headlights to tail lights and using the BCM out of the VS aswell.

If I do this will I have problems with the ABS and SRS not allowing the car to run? Will it display faults and so on?

Can you think of anywhere else i would run into problems?

Cheers,

Phil

I was going to do that with mine years back but there was just so much crap to fit into a little lc.The glovebox alone just barely fitted the ecu, ignition module, fuse box & tachiometric relay & some wiring.I put the coil up under the dash near trans tunnel. This was so I could hide it all out of the engine bay.

First question is Why? do u want to use a complete commodore wiring lume when you can leave the torana harness in and no need to stuff around, just put the ecu in, run the harness thru the firewall, solder up what needs to be done under the dash and go for it

your engine runs a completely separate wiring harness to the rest of the car, from memorie your harness runs from the passeneger side through the firewall, theres 2 plugs on the ECU That run to the engine lume.

Unless you've different plans to run abs ect

goodluck with it how ever you go :spoton:

Yeah I plan on using everything but ABS/SRS

So:
Electric Window Wiring
Central Locking
Heater/Aircon
Trip Computer
Cruise Control
VS Dash
Headlight wiring
Tail light wiring
Boot realease
List goes on. :)

Cheers :)

Just ensure you use a level 1 or 2 type main harness. From an Exec or Acclaim.
Do not use a main which has climate control circuitry (Berlina Calais). You will also need to get the switches that will work with the harness. Headlamp switch (you will also require the insrument harness for an exec because it will carry the resisitance wire) There is also the change to 4 filament rear lighting.

Let us know if you need more explaining.

Cheers, Max

The loom is coming out of a VS SS Series 2 so there is no climate but everything else which is good. I will be utilizing all switches and controls so that shouldn't be a problem. I will be changing the electric window motors to Toyota Camery but that shouldn't cause me problems (Just cut wires and join new plug). Just wondering if it will run without the SRS Module and ABS Module?

Yes it will. no probs.
Just be careful how you set up the door locks. The VS BCM can be optioned for 2 stage unlock and also can require a lock position input.

Cheers, Max

PS: will you incorporate the slip ring input at the ignition?
