Hi guys, twice now i have cleaned up and treated the rust on the battery tray but the acid from the battery has started to rust it again, how can i stop the battery from rusting my tray?
Battery is just a standard lead acid battery.

Do you have the proper plastic tray underneath your battery? Available from Rares.

Hi

POR-15 is supposed to be impervious to rust, acid, brake fluid etc. I did my tray with this stuff - so far so good.

Yes i have the plastic tray in place, im more worried about fixing the cause rather than the rust, does anyone know why the battery would make excess acid, it is eating my wires as well.

how is the acid getting out of the battery in the first place? it shouldnt be that ful that it overflows.

also if there is a problem with the battery, your best bet would be to simply buy a new one would it not?

I am thinking of getting a new battery as everything, charging system etc, checks out o.k.
