Hi, anyone know what the correct interior colour of the hatch itself should be. I've seen some that are the body colour & some that are matt black. Did this colour depend on the exterior colour was? Mine was black, but that dosen't mean much as it's been painted 3 times. Did any models have any trim on them?

Cheers.

I had 2 hatchbacks both cars had the tan/brown interior and the inside of the hatch was original paint and it was a flat brwony tan colour just like a base coat.

Yeah mate, check the trim code on your plates in the engine bay (the passenger side one)

Put the number up here, and we can tell you wat your original interior colour was, and then u can work out what the original colour of the underside of the hatchlid is. I have never seen the rear hatchlid covered with a material, i have only seen painted... Mine was a cream colour, but i just colour matched it with my exterior paint...

Cheers

Matt

My first car was a Papaya (? Orange anyway) SL with a black interior hatch. The inside of the hatch was matt black. Wish I had that car now

What colour was the inside of the hatch. Most seem to be satin/matt black.

AFAIK the correct colour for the inside of the hatch lid for SL and SS hatch is the same as the seats. ie Papaya seats had a rusty red matt finish. Black seats had matt black and so on. Not sure about sunbird though. I'm guessing body colour?

Haha, I've had two yellow hatches.

SS with brown interior had brown hatch.

Sunbudgie with black/tartan interior had black.

You need to check your trim number.

Pretty sure cream interior also had black, and red interior had brown?

The underside of the hatch is the same colour as the trim. In a car with chamois trim and chamois paint, the underside is a darker colour to the outside and it's masked in a particular way, not just the whole underside
