Well changed the diff gears in the Torrie the other day. Went from 3.0 to 3.5 to 1. Bought the gears off a mob in Qld for $400, ripped the brakes off & slid the axles out. Took the diff centre (with LSD centre) into my local diff rebuilder who rebuilt it for $600. Got home & wacked it all together. Cos my cars an auto the gears work really well with the auto. I thought a complete 9 inch LSD rebuilt with new diff gears for $1,000 wasn't too bad. Only problem is just have to watch it at high speeds, as the revs start to climb pretty quick, but not dumb enough to do that too much.
One question I do have is will it put strain on the motor doing 100 km/h when I drive it up to Newcastle for Toranafest & back, (1600 km round trip)?
