I need photos for SL/R paint trimming

Rear tail lights - where the black surrounds the lenses
Nose cone - the corner bits and how far the black goes down the front
Where black and yellow meet when you open the doors... actually on the shell it self.
I've got photos here of some torries from the club websites which I will use but I thought maybe by chance one of you might have a close up of the areas specified? If not, it's not a worry, I'll work something out
Thank you

No, they're not all my photos (Only one person seems to mind, so TY Tinkers), and they're not even all LHs and some of their paintjobs contradict themselves (LHT-355 etc) but they all have aspects that you may be interested in. Hope they help, you know what you're looking for, I know pretty much what you're looking for, so just ignore the parts that neither of us care about. I know you asked for 'close ups' but most of them are decent quality so anyway, so unless you want me to crop off the excess...
All the photos before me airbrushing are for you:

Factory pic from Spotlight on Torana's:-
My car the stripes fall short about 10mm of where they should extend to, so won't give you that to go by. Don't have inside the doors at this stage.

The Barbados "5000LX" has an alright shot of what Tiny is talking about too I think. Could be better though... If I see something else I will post it

Hey Yella, I got this picture here, is it your torrie sitting in front of strathfield, yellow n black, venetian blind, 5 spoke dragways?
^ That one? Nah, never seen the car before.........yes, that is mine. Rear spoiler is LX scheme though in that series of pics. Has the LH one now.
LX
Proper LH
^ yes car is going bush at the time, but that's prolly not important right now. Head is facing where the car should have gone.
Personally I preferred the loud one, however the LH one has grown on me --> more sophisticated, and something nice in common with the LJ XU1's.

From BMXer's car when we painted it. bottom on central pillar goes horizontal, the ones up the top go all round the top of the central rib, then angle down at 45 across the beading lip. Does that make sense?

Cheers

Those rear lense shots have helped so thanks for that. As for the nose cone, I am going to have attach it to the shell to get an idea how its going to line up anyway (the bonnet is black).
Nice torrie btw, one of my faves going around. I've had it on my computer for a while now and I didn't know whose it was. Did you paint it yourself?

While I'm thinking of it yella, Bonnet scoops on A9X's don't use flare bolts to hold them down, they use the same screws as the grill should use I met the guy with the white hatch while at Bathurst.....

RED, I take your point, there seems to be a bit of freedom taken by painters when it comes to cutting in etc on the trim colours, i.e. like half black and half body colour bumpers --> seen that a few times now.
RED, interesting. Think the flare bolts look better, and the use of the newer rivet in type threads even better (they have a name). I'd keep that under your hat. Must say, I always thought I wanted a bonnet scoop in my younger days till my mate put one on his SS. That probably galvanised my love for the LH, no bonnet scoop, no black bonnets to constantly keep clean.
No, my car basically came as is, and I just repair/paint the shitty bits. I basically bought it because I liked the look of it, my mind firmed up when I did a check and found out it was indeed an SL/R 5000. Prices were also starting to rise, so it was a get it now or never type decision.
The paint, while it photographs well still, really needs to be redone one day, they painted it with the screens in, masked the left guard sticker, and other not so good stuff. Under bonnet/boot has never been done. Basically I've been building up my skills by getting involved in as many resprays/repairs as possible to get my skills up to speed for the day when I will respray it and rebuild her from scratch. I'm happy enough with my skills at this stage to do minor repairs, still need to do some more practice with blocking and buffing.
Since buying the car some 4-5 years ago, it's just been a matter of slowly slowly fixing all the bodgey bits to my satisfaction. Still fair way to go till I'm happy with it, but it's all basically there.
Happy that it is giving you guys inspiration, that can only be a good thing. I prefer to see as many Torries on the road as possible, regardless of their lineage.

It had Canberra plates, he told me you told him the bolts were original so he removed the original screws......noooo.... lol, needs a new bonnet anyway. I never got to talk to him much unfortunately.Red, where does that white A9X live now?

Oh well, it's only an A9X (only jokes mate!).
It was one of those "I've just bought a Torana and I think it might be an A9X!" calls. Was one of those 1 in 100 calls where it actually was one.

Squishy black rubber door seals take care of the colour elsewhere.
On here all day, but car isn't near me all day.

I wish to do blackouts on my torana with yellow as well. But i dont want to do the entire SLR5000 blackout look, just the SL (i think?) blackouts. ie around the windows on the doors and the scuttle under the doors/gaurds. I was just wondering how do you go about 'masking' it off to get the best finish?
Also what is the paint code/name for this yellow? Is this Absinth Yellow or something different again? https://cache.gmh-to...edanyellow2.jpg

For those who don't know I'm chasing the distance of how far the black goes down the centre pillar just after the lip drops off. If anyone knows, please let me know !
