Hi guys, would just like any info from people that run or know of people running wilwood calipers mainly the dynalite, they are said to be rated for 2800lbs disc front/back or 2400lbs disc/drum but they are going on a lx hatch that will have ford drums rear and be around 2800lbs with driver.

The problem isnt stopping on the track but just wondering if they will do for the street as the car will have rego, more so if i gave it aliitle stab on the street should it pull up?

The car has hq front, commadore rear that must be changed and i didnt think they are all that good anyways.

Please if anyone can help??

Will also put pics up in projects once i have some, im sure you guys will like.

Thanks again and nice to be on here :D

Dynalites are a bit too flexy in the body for my liking.
You could install a bridge thru the middle to stiffen them up a little.
Thern again if you are still running a power booster on th firewall then your pedal height is going to move around a little anway, so you prolly won't notice the flex in the caliper...
If you are serious about stopping though... don't bother with the willwood stuff, get some AP calipers.
Or Brembo's if you are made of $$$'s

Cheers Greg..

Which is basically what dattoman said. He measured 120 thou flex in it. He's working on a kit using DBA 019 discs ( 330 MM ) and AP calipers. He will get there one day. At least I hope so, as I already have the new discs in the garage. Only issue is they need 17" rims to clear. For the rear, use DBA 020 ( VN HSV ) discs and VN HSV calipers.

Approx. retail prices:

DBA 019 $300 each
AP front caliper $700+ each
HSV rear caliper $250 each.

Plus the adapter and rear disc, which I haven't priced yet.

Hi guys and thanks for the imput.
As this is a drag car (sorry should have said) i cant run 330 rotor's as im running 15" wheels and all im really after is something that can pull the car up on the street if i give it alittle tap, most of the stopping at the track will be done by a chute.

A friends torana has a super basic setup that im told does the job that is factory torana front (dont know what pads) with mustang rear drums and a chute which stops his car from 148mph and i have seen it pull it up on the street but was just aittle tap and brake test.

This is the setup we might still fit as the car wont see much of the street and if it does will only be a quick spin but due to that i want something alittle more then fatory and i know how bad the hq/commadore setup was and torana front really is a downgrade but i need to keep factory front track width.

Wilwood have a fair price (and weight :D )and im not made of money car also will not have a booster as i will run into vacum problems, so setup looks like wilood front on solid slotted rotors/ford drum rear which i hope to do the job for what i want but i just cant find anyone that runs them for street work.

A friend has a 240z with vented front with volvo 4pots and not sure what on back (he doesnt even know) with drilled rotors and all i can say is wow has little fade and pulls it up real fast even if its seen top end speed but my car wont have super wide front tyres more like 4" nankangs for street.

Anyways sorry to go on and if anyone wants to toss ideas at me please do so.

Thanks again guys.

Ash.

If you must....... go for the new billet range
DynaPro as a minimum

However..... the Superlites are bigger and will bolt straight to the spindle (HQ) with HQ disc
