Does anyone know what companies were making safety belts/harnesses in 1974/1975 and that are still around today. I'm wanting to keep the period look in my car so would like to get a brand of harness that was around in the 70's, but new of course.

Second question is did they have cam lock harnesses back then or only lever lock set ups?

Thanks in advance :spoton:

Rainsford is the one that would be most period authentic.
Leverlock was very common, i don't think that cam lock was avaliable outside the aero industry at the time.

Forgot to ask - any idea if these can still be bought today?

While we are on the subject...where do you get the brackets to slip the ends through on a taxi bar?

Rory, you buy them for taxi bar (no clips, belt around the bar) or you can weld in the studs (both sides, belts with clips). Try Revolution Racegear. PM LXChev366, he mentioned something about buying belts from the UK for cost reasons.

Early Group C harnesses? Any car from this era would need current belts, as belts are mostly only good for 5 years from date of manufacture.

^ EDIT: Better qualify that, that is for competition purposes, not show.

Thanks for the ideas so far. What I'm aiming to do is buy new belts but ideally from a manufacturer that was making them in the 1970s so there is a bit of consistency with what would have been around at that time.

I was thinking Simpson, RJS or simillar but not real logic to that

thanks
