SOLEX LOCKS INTO LH

Has anyone had trouble fitting the SOLEX lock kit from RARE SPARES into the boot of there LH/LX.

It appears i need to file a slot for the original metal clip to hold it in place. To fit it the way they say, the part that goes into the boot lock mechanism to unlock it will be flat , not up right like i need.

Anyone experienced this ?

i have never done an lh but ive doine lots of cars.
i always use the plastic surround they supply with the kit and die grind/file the opening to suit the surround.
then fit the surround,slide in the barrel and use either the new retaining clips or your original ones,whichever is easier

i had the same prob putting them into my lj. i just got a hacksaw and cut some groves in teh right spot. problem solvered. also had to drasticaly modify the little levers....pain in the but but there all in now.
