Hi staind91.

The Commodore disc rotors, the calipers & the pads are all different to HQ. The rotors are a different diameter, thickness, offset & whell PCD pattern. Only the bearings & seal are the same.

The later Holdens (HZ/WB) used an alloy Girlock caliper that looked similar to a Commodore one, but wasn't interchangable. Likewise the pads, which were DB1023, look like the DB1085 Commodore pads, but will not fit.

Dr Terry.

thats not entirely correct, i have commodore brakes on the torana and i have used a DB1023 i think pad with some minor grinding on the locating tabs and these then fit perfectly and give you more pad area on the discs.

left is the original DB1085, middle is the DB1023 with the tabs ground down and right is the DB1023 without any mods.

Can you bolt up Commodore Stub/Brake assemblies to a Torana, Like you can with HQ brakes?

If you use late UC-Sunturd calipers ( they resemble early Commonwhore calipers ) & mounting bracket ( MUST say TORANA on the bracket ) then you can get them to fit LH - LX stubs with no mods ! And if you're adventurous you can get Vl turbo/V8 finned calipers to fit with some " clearancing " & slight mods , new brake hoses (custom for the length) , piss the dust shields off & use slotted or slot & crossdrilled rotors ( LH-LX ) and it'll all fit under 13's with early stud pattern still !!!!

I've got 15's but chucked my sprintmasters off the LJ to roll the car around while getting new rubber on the fronts .
