For those of you who want to download the races here is a site with heaps of Motorsport including some V8/ATCC stuff on it.
Here is one i found have not tested it yet

35 minute highlights package of the 1978 Hang Ten 400 for Gp C touring cars from Sandown, Melbourne, Australia. Featured are some of Australia's best touring car drivers and cars of the era. Drivers featured are Peter Brock, John Harvey, Allan Moffat, Bob Morris, Alan Grice, Colin Bond, Jack Brabham, Peter Janson, Gary Rodgers, Bo Seton, Dick Johnson and more. Cars featured are the Torana A9X, Ford Falcon Cobra, Ford Capri and more.

Yep, found this site not long ago, currently downloading highlights from 82 Bathurst and the complete 87 race.

Torrent is just the way you download them mate. You download the Torrent, which is like the link to the actually download locations. Then you open the Torrent in a Torrent program and actually download the videos.

Not sure what format they are in. Possibly mpg, wma, or divx.

Great find mate. I look forward to finding some more old touring car racing videos... :spoton:

Just finished downloading the 1978 Hang Ten and all i can say is wow. Awesome sounds, awesome cars. :rockon:

Wish I had of been around at the time to experience it. :cry:

As a young'n I remember Ameroo, Adelaide International,
but the bug really kicked in after the first Adelaide Grand Prix.

Can anyone else remember the sound of those little V12 screamers,
which was beautifully broken up by two V8 powered Alfas?
They were just bliss to listen to in comparrison to the others.

Same with the aussie V8s which were demonstration only
back then, from memory?

I'd love to have gone to Bathurst back in the day.

Only been once, and loved every day/hour/minute/second.
You just cant get the sound in your gut thru a tele!!!
