The front bar is here for all the interested parties..I will take pics when I get home this arvo to compare it Howard/Howard/SSL31s ones and see if it has changed again or not.

The quality issue is not a factor on this one..maybe I got them on a good day..very happy...the plates on the bolt ups are quite thick and dont think you would need anymore...the thin plates with the sliding arms up and down I might reinforce a bit more but it appears they are like that to crush the nolathene bushes into the uprights...I could fit rose joint ends but will see how it fits together first. Is it worth $465?..Probably a bit over priced but you do pay for the results and name I guess.

Ok, so they have changed a bit to accomodate the brake ducts, still look a solid piece though.

Still need to chop your splashguards

And with Welbys.... same bar.... the brackets that hold the bar to the chassis didn't line up with the holes

Might be able to make a stronger mount for the whiteline bar, had another look at the pics of it, maybe just better lower control arm mount brackets

Buy the K MAC mounts...its easier. They sell them by themselves Howard/Arrimar says.

So are the photos above, the off-the-shelf kit from Kmac? ie. no custom stuff here?? It certainly looks like very decent quality stuff...

I see they have changed them since the good old days. I picked up a set in the box that were bought brand new 20 years ago. Here's how mine goes.

Straight out of the box LX.

UD...Thats the old style, you have to cut into the air brake ducts on that bracket..See LITRE8 website.

The newer style KMac kit looks like the old Selby's front bar setup but it does save surgery on the brake ducts.

Ah ok, I just checked out howard's site. I didn't think i'd get my ducts on their at all so thats good. My car is no stranger to having things cut off it, so looks like i'll be attacking the ducts soon.

Cheers

If the bar is allowed to rotate thru the body mounts how does adjusting the control arm mounts change the pressure on it?

Moving the arms forward allows less twist...thereby making the suspension firmer...sliding them back allows more twist...softening the roll....Its like a big spring tying the 2 front arms together.
