Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with faulty seatbelts? Mine must be a little worn out and do not retract all the way back in, and in somecases they hang out the door and rattle on the ground if the door has been shut on them.
I have pulled them apart and turned the spring around a few times but this does not give the extra strength needed to suck them back in.
Do hatches have the same seat belts as a sedan?
Or is there some way to fix this problem?
Cheers
Matt.

mine were doing the same thing so i ripped them out and gave them a bloody good scrub to get all dirt/oil crap off threw them on the line for a couple of days and put them back in and haven't had any problems since, i figured they wernt retracting because of the build up of crap and getting "sticky"

Also make sure the plastic is clean where the belt runs through at the pillar ,I've had a couple of belts bind up because of crap on the plastic, also look for wear or damage to the plastic as it take SWA to stop the belt if the edge of the plastic is ruffed up.
I'd also check that the belt runner on the pillar is pivoting freely as well.

Yeah, mine do the same thing. Have to be careful when rear passengers climb out and hook the f$#^en loose belt on their foot. Aswell as slamming the buckle in the door and chippin your paint etc.

I've found that you just need to get into a habit of flicking it back as you get out is the easiest to do (they don't seem to have the same power as other cars to retract). Mine work well most of the time but i still have some paint chips
