WOW....

Check it out towards the end... looks to ME like rear left tyre goes when the timing markers hit his car and causes teh chassis to break apart. Reasonably similar to the lamatina incident recently! ( Though that was just chassis breaking.. not caused by the tyre letting go as this one seems to be.)

Wow... Glad he's ok.. Apprently broken legs is "all".

i guess these two accidents go a long way to showing how good the chassis design is around the occupant hey ... these guys are on the cutting edge and in most cases walking away if not close to it!

ChevLX: That's what i was thinking too!! Would not have known what hit him as he was out front most of the race! And the funny thing is, HE was the one who got all loose down the track!!

I'm just really glad that as sammy has said, NHRA take into account the driver's safety as much as is humanly possible and make all the rules to build these cars as well built as they are today!

Cheers!

Track safety is pretty poor and by that I mean, it took a million bystanders ages to get him out of the car before some officials came.

The wife doesn't look that worried but mustve shit herself.... bad accident but glad he didnt leave in a box.

Errrrr.. You want to check that again J-Bird?
The safety Safari were on scene before the part of the car he was on had come to a stop.. and the SECOND safety safari got to bernstein in just as fast time!

You dont just go tearing people out of wrecks unless there is further risk of injury (fire or something like that), You have to asess the situation and possibly wait for the correct equipment to get there.

I think the NHRA safety Safari would be one of the most highly trained, best equipped group ive seen anywhere, And i think that the Aussie crews could use a bit of a boost too. Ive only ever seen 1 response vehicle (Fully equipped i mean) at the track instead of the two like the NHRA have.

Cheers
