I am in the process of trying to get him to obtain another workshop, as I want him to do my car

He recently completed a LC GTR XU1 that met with a tree head on years ago and was sitting around, suffice to say you would not think it was the same car after he finished it!
I can have a chat to him if you like, I am sure that he would show you some of his work before you make a decision.
As for pricing, I have never had to ask him, but if he/you are interested you can talk amongst yourselves.

I know it's a little out of Sydney (80km - Mittagong) but he's good at what he does. He's just finished my LC GTR, built an LC GTR race car and has two other Toranas in the workshop from the Sydney Torana Club.
Comes highly recommended as he does mostly restorations as opposed to insurance work.

Just curious as a few years ago i went down the same track as sunburst_metallic but found panel shops are in it for the insurance and if its purely a resto shop bring an open cheque book, thats why i did everything on my rebuild.
In saying that its impossible to put a figure on a repair based on an external representation, get behind those door pillars and they can be really bad plus rust hidden behind other panels
Are you keen on revealing the body rebuild cost as far as panels/rust painting etc?

After all was said and done I ended up paying $9600.00 which included rust repairs (I supplied the replacement panels) Paint, putting the front and rear suspension back into the car (after I rebuilt it during repairs), rehanging of the doors, bonnet and boot, a full rubber kit. Plus lots of other little bits 'n pieces along the way.
As the repairer was building his LC race car at the time I also supplied quite a few parts and assistance as the jod went along which obviously assisted in the final pricing.
I was pleased.
Have a look at: sydneytoranaclub.com (members cars - alans project) for pics of the rebuild which is nearly complete.

Yours looks like a good body to start with, which is probably why the panel shop price is fairly low. Id expect if your replacing quarters, guards and or rusty door pillars the price will climb considerably higher.
By the way whats your opinion on the door trims from dash original, they look good but are they exactly like original?

Quality is excellent and they fit pretty well. Nothing is ever going to be exactly like the originals but they are pretty darn close.
