you will have to change the gear in the speedo transducer, its mounted in the extension housing, they are different colours to reflect the number of teeth on the gear i think.
it depends if you are reading too fast or too slow as to which gear you will need

I didn't think you could change the speedo driven gear with a Celica 5 speed box. I thought that was just the Aussie boxes.

I have a 3.36 banjo in mine and the speedo reads a touch fast but nothing major so i just live with it.

Other option is to get a corection 'gearbox' made up that goes on the end of the speedo cable and goes into the box to fix the problem, but they start at around $300.

It will be right if you use the same tyre diameter and final drive ratio as the toyota from where it came.

the lowest diff ratio in toyota I found was 3.7 (most are 4+) that is why the 3.36 diff gives close reading,
with my conversion the LJ had 2.78 diff, I used one of those miles to kilometre conversion stickers that you get from Rares but used a 200kph on a 100mph speedo and it is only out by about 1%, tested it against speed camera reading
the guy was sitting down the street from depot and asked him to check read out when I went past ( under limit of course)

I paid 450 bucks for a steel case box from an LX, with tailshaft and correct shifter for my LJ (by accident) clutch and pressure plate, aswell as an M20.

The only thing that cost me was having the tailshaft shortened (couple hundred)

and a few other bits and peices here and there.

all up only about 700
