My block is a 'ZL' prefix...does that mean it's a black motor block?
What's a good oil pressure to have for a mild 202?
When changing the oil pump, can the engine be left in the car? It doesn't look like much space? Can someone outline the procedure in case I mess it up.
Anyone have a good condition 'standard' oil pump they want to sell/give me?
Thanks all
James

what pressure do you have?
simply undo the 4 bolts in the corners..the middle 2 hold the front plate on...but i tend to find it is rarely the pumps fault..its bearing clearances

I think you have a HZ engine..will have to check.

Will have to get a the gauge fixed.
Oil pump shaft had about 60 thou play in it when it was put in because I couldn't afford a new one at the time of rebuild. I think oil pressure was around 30 ??
Sorry its in an LJ.
Are all oil pumps the same for red, blue, black blocks?
How do I prime an oil pump?
