hay guys, just thought i'd add a few pics of my work in progress, shes my daily driver so it's a bit hard to do anything, just finished respraying her about 4 weeks ago, a nice matt black finish, thought i'd go for a greaser rat rod finish till did some work on the engine and interior etc. did the paint job myself, do a bit of spray in my job so it came as a good idea to do the work myself and proved cheap haha. any comments or opinions i'd gladly appreciate.
shes running just a basic 186 and shes getting a nice holley 450 in the coming weeks and a new exhaust system extractors etc etc etc the whole lot. Hard to find good holden owners these days, so if any one on the north side of brisbane wants to go for a cruise let me know!

So whats the go with painting a matt finish? How do u get a nice even job? Dose it stain easy?

welll hopefully give her the going throught, get the 186 rebuilt etc etc, and eventually wen i get on the good money drop in a nice v8, around the 350 area, maybe even go 427, but yeh change all the running gear, redo the interior, gonna avoid the old skool look n go for more of a custom touch, lookin at putting bucket seats in at the moment, i like the bench seat but its just not doing anything for me anymore haha. im looking for performance a bit more then looks, i mean it is an hg?
and the matt finish is quite easy, only used two coats of primer, the black matt finish is a primer in itself so i just went nuts on the black, had a bit of trouble wit lines but that was easily fixed by coating up n down then across, n dont ask about the roof, i should used a chair coz over spray just ruined it, but i gave her a wash with a scouring pad, and it cleaned it up really nicely.

I've always wanted a matt black hoon car like that. My torry used to be like that (but matt yellow), bog stock looking with a nuts v8 and loud as hell exhaust. I wish I had room for more toys heheh.

lol yeh i havent been pulled up yet and no speeding tickets so it seems to be working, i think the chrome is the only give away, but im going fast enuf i should be ok haha
