canned vinyl paint works well with a few coats.. but the best results come from proper vinyl lacquer mixed at a paint shop. Not many suppliers make it anymore, though!

Vinyl paint works or you can buy plastic primer and use normal auto paint.
If you pass by Girraween pop into VG auto paint suppliers.

Plenty of vinyl paints about.

Matts and satins tend to come up best.

All in the preparation Toddles. Tend to clean with soapy water
and cloth rather than chemicals, as most grime is water based.
Use cotton buds in holes etc.

Leave for a couple of days to r e a l l y dry out.

Do a small test patch on any rear facing bits. Spray thin coat
over entire part, leave to r e a l l y dry, then build up.

Satin black comes up a treat.

I found that you need a clean shiny surface for the vinyl to adhere properly, i dont think it will cover the dry chalky looking dashes and make it look like new

Someone painted the dash in the "Kingsrana" Pepe Le' Pew style...black top and bottom with the glove box and rest of the centre section white...and the seats...so its all going black very soon.

Clean the surface with acrylic auto thinners first.
Be sure to use a fresh rag and turn it continually as it gets dirty and don't dip the dirty bits back into the tin.

thinners melts dashes ,use a really strong wax and grease remover(prepsol) glasurit is the best and a lot stronger than any others one the market dupont mixes paint especially for dashes, normal spray can paint that is used for dashes peels off where dupont wont and is more durable,
