My front drivers side indicator lamp isnt working, theres no power going to it.

checked the flasher its working, bulb ok, it appears the actual switch in the steering column is at fault, also the dash indicator lamp for this side doesnt light up. I think the signal wire splits and goes to the front lamp and indicator dash lamp, thus reinforcing that the fault is in the column.

any ideas, fixes

There is a downloadable wiring diagram for LJ here.

May be the same as LC for indicators?

Looks like either the switch or the 1st connector from the switch could be at fault.

Pull the switch apart and check to see if any of the three contacts/brass strips are broken.

LC's and LJ's have different indicator mechanisms unfortunately... LC are the same as HT HK HG and LJ are like HQ, HJ etc :)

Is the wiring diagram the same though?

Very close but some differences would be the lack of side repeaters in the back of LJ's etc

I would be checking the earth first. I had a problem where my drivers side kept loosing the earth connection, despite the fact a bolt goes straight into the nose cone from the indicator. In the end i ran a wire from the headlight earth (radiator bolt) down to the back of the bolt on the indicator and no problems since. Didn't have the problem on the passenger side.

Maybe its not the earth but worth checking.

I traced the fault back to the actual switch contacts, can you get replacement ones of these?

HK/T/G electric in the steering cloumn are the same as LC, if that helps at all. As mentioned, the front indicators earth via the mounting stud - and they always corrode.
