Hey,

I have Purchased a adjustable front sway bar from pedders suspension to make the torana go round corners better.

It requires a 3/8 hole to be drilled in the upper control arm for the sway bar link.
Has anyone one fitted one of these before?? and is it possible to get some photos of one of these fitted.

I ask becaue i dont want to drill the upper control arm in the wrong place and f^$* up my front end geometry.

thanks LJB_rad

News to me...the normal sway bars just bolt to the lower radius arms...show us some pics...assuming from your handle its a LJ...on an LH I have pics of the hole if you need it.

Mate like nothing I have every seen for an LJ...really interested in the pic in the bottom right hand corner...that looks like the bar I was describing bolted to the radius arms....this one looks very LH to me.

Mate, I wouldnt trust a thing Pedders tell you - most of the franchisees dont know shit bout the older girls. Im not claiming to be a suspension expert by any means (far from it) but id say Rory is on the money.

The instruction on the right are for the standard replacement style that bolts to the caster rod arm. He gave me that because the sway bar D-bushes mount just like the standard style.

Would that be possible to see the some photos of a LH rorym.

Maybe he got mixed up and sold me a LH one :furious:

Thanks guys for ya help

I have a Selbys bar on my LC.
It looks like yours except for the ends where the links fit on.
Mine attaches to the radius rod like Rory mentioned.
I would check with Pedders first if they are sure it is for an LC LJ.
If it is, I would loosely bolt it on at the chassis and attach the links and see where they would mount to.
Just looking at what you have, i can see no reason why it wont work.
I would post a pic of mine, But my car is not easily accessible where it is parked.
John.

I also dry fritted it last nite and it will fit. It'll will need a bit of fiddeling around but nothing that i wasnt expecting though.

Ment to be fun but not always LOL!!! :tease:

Hey 82911, I would have thought that the NC cars would have used something similar but didnt think to have a look!! Or i didnt want to get my pants dirty!! lol

Ill thank more notice next time there in town.

Mite be a stupid question but how did you work out where to drill the hole in there upper control arm (dont wont to butcher mine by making too many mastakes), and how long the sway bar links should be. I know that they have to be long enough to clear that caster rod and even on both sides but is there a pacific lenght they should be??

oh and the car is a street car not a track car. When its done.
thanks guys!! :spoton:
