Hi guys I have done the usal HQ brake up grade. I have read on here to use the harrop steering arms. I can not afford those so I chose to use the UC ones. My problem is that the ones I pulled of my LH look the same as the UC ones i got from the wreckers. The numbers on the LH ones are AF3 GM 7248 and AF3 GM 7249. The UC ones are AF2 GM 7248 and AF2 GM 7249. Can anyone confirm that I have the correct UC steering arms
Thanks

I am not sure that fitting UC arms with HQ stubs will achieve anything worthwhile.

Compare away! The LH ones are noticably flatter on the knuckle end.

I have checked a pair of arms I removed from a UC, AF1 GM 7248 and AF1 GM 7249. These numbers probably only confuse the issue!!

Sounds like they are all UC to me.

Thanks

Can you post pictures of the arms you have. A view from the top will make it easy to identify.

LH/LX top, UC Bottom
Note the UC arm is longer than the LH/LX

If the front end was UC it should have had offset ball joints on the upper arms. The UC arm is painted. Note the offset of the ball joint in relation to the bump stop hole.

Hi ls2lxhatch the 2 arms in your photo look the same to me but i could be wrong. I have taken photos but i don't know how to add them too here.
Rorym thanks for the pics. Both my sets of arms look like the UC ones. But i believe that the ones on my LH have never been changed.
Thanks guys

I have found my problem. A previous own must have changed the passenger side steering arm for some reason. After pulling off the drivers side i found that it was an LH/LX steering arm and the passenger side was a UC arm.
Thanks guys for the help.

At least having both steering arms the same should be a significant improvement.
