just installed my t5 borgwarner (vh-vk) and its shifter position is quite a fair bit back from the original position. The gearstick fouls with the console? anyone else had this problem and does anyone have some smart ideas to get around it, before i go cutting the console up.
Cheers,
Nathan

I think you can buy shifter relocators for the T5. How far forward does it need to move.

dont really want to pay any money to fix the problem though, its only a daily driver,
needs to go forward about 1-2inches, 2nd and 4th hit the console

cheers for that!
might just cut up my console, or have no console at all and hunt around for a big rubber boot

You could always do something similar to dattoman and Z shape the shifter by a cut and shut with flat bar or heat and bend.
