G'day All

Could someone please tell me what are the requirements for changing over from a standard brake booster to the bigger XU-1 unit?

And does the calipers also have to be changed over.

I don't think so but a friend of mine has an LJ 4 door with disc brakes and wants to change over to the larger booster.

His motor is worked and I think that the standard brakes are already quite good enough for his every day driving situation.

Regards...............................Barry.

Barry,

I thought the XU1 booster just meant you don't have to push the pedal as hard for the same output. You can swap it over no problem (mine had a UC booster when I got it, now has a standard LC booster), just make sure it's adjusted correctly for the master cyl. eg: doesn't drag when brake pedal is off.

Cheers,

yeah, providing there both for the same master cyl, ie deep or shallow piston, then jut swap them over and bend the brake lines to suit. no wakkas.
