Yeah something similar to this but with a white roof. I want it to be one of those cars that you look at because it looks good, not because of some hero colour like bright pink or orange etc.

Posted Image

Honda CRVs have a similar colour as do some of the new BMWs

I want it to be a classic colour and still look good in ten years from now. unlike say tiger gold or hot house green which everyone loved for 6 months, now they hate it. If you get my drift.

I love this wagon it is my inspiration.

Noice. My brother is crazy bout EH's.

Very tidy work.

Wish the Torrie plenum was that large. Looks like you can actually get in and clean the EH plenum. Obviously a design fault they rectified in future models.

I'll have to show my mate this thread as he is doing up an EH wagon. He also bought an EH ute.

I would like to know too.
Looks like stripper and angle grinder?

Stripping has been done by wire wheel on a 4'' angle grinder then finished of with my die grinder with sanding wheels, no chemical methods involved.

Milco = etch primer is Spies Hecker super etch 45 or something like that.

Heath = small pin holes inside of door have been filled by building up tack welds.

Thanks for the comments guys it will keep me motivated to bring you more, so keep them coming.

on the left is my partners EH Sedan with VN V6 and 5 speed in it and the right is my FB Ute with VR V6 and 4 speed auto.

judging by that pic of the crossmember and the comments you made your going to use a commodore rear mounted rack ?

Yeah Sammy I am using a rear mounted commodore rack. Thanks for the pictures also. In your partners EH what have you used for engine mounts. I have been told if I use Pat Gardiners mounts I dont have to reposition the HR mounting points. Apparently it is a bolt on option. It looks like you are using a front mount Torana Rack, am I correct in saying this.

your right the EH is using a Torana front mounted rack and the FB is using commodore one from Pat Gardners.

i don't really know what the engine mounts are, but the welding on them is dodgy as ... thats how i got them from ebay ....
Posted Image

but yes they do allow fitment without having to move the mounts ... the torana rack setup is very close to it though ... dad actually made this conversion when he owned the FB ute, he reckons its the same as the hadfield kits but hes positioned it on mounts where he wanted it to make the bump steer virtually non-existant.

the v6 in the fb is a fair bit further back than the one in the EH as it already had the mounts cut off it so i basically made custom mounts to suit my needs and then measured the engine all up and then welded them in where you see in the below picture. (obviously these arn't finished :))
Posted Image

one thing to note is the eh mounts use holden v8 rubber mounts and the fb mounts use a holden 6 mount which is probably not as strong as the v8 mount.

oh and im not sure how you'll go but i needed to get one of these for the oil filter as it hits the chassis rail.
