Hi all, just thought I'd share a couple of 'as is' pics of my SS.

I flew down to Adelaide last week to check all numbers and all match.
Original everything!! Wheels were even supplied by dealer.

Has factory air. (contentious issue I know! LOL)
[Has extra fan speed and slider control colourations and symbols.
Air is plumbed thru vents, not additional under dash unit.]
Electric aerial.
Demister.
Both mirrors.
Original interior in really good nick, inc. carpets.
Original spoiler.
Original dash and ashtray.
Original paperwork from dealer with owner's guide.

She's a roughy, especially in the C pillars. Nothing new.
What's the saying? a diamond in the rough?

I am keeping her a six with trimatic.

I figure there will be so few factory spec six cylinder cars out there
in the near future, this will be a gem.

My kids have christened her 'Banana'. Disrespectful shits...

Cant wait to get going!!!!

Thanks to all who helped with the vin and engine numbers etc,
and to FastEH for the trimatic.

She is still in Adelaide. The transport company wont take her unless she's
running. A part from a new battery, any one know of a transporter
that will pick up and deliver door to door undrivable? Might be cheaper
to just get the battery. I'm at around $600 bucks door to door for a running
car at present with a few carriers. Just a bit challenged to get a battery
organised in Adelaide.

I'll keep a pretty good photo record, so I guess I'll say "more to come -"

Cheers, leakey

Hi Mark, you have picked up a great project there! Cant wait to SS in the flesh :spoton:

I reckon you will be to tempted to drop in a 5 litre & put the original six away in the garage for the future.

I seen an orig yellow with stripes down to the hupcaps. Looked great for a yellow car. Better than that green they painted them in

Thanks for that pic TORUNYA,

I actually bought the car back in November,
or at least left a deposit with the gal.

(yes another female owner.)

She inherrited it from her dad, but simply did not have
enough money to fix it.

The damage to the car was caused by an SLR5000 doing donuts
in a car park. He hit the rear and side. She was so upset and
nervous (she was in the car) she hit a pole leaving the car park.

Guy turned out to be a looser, giving her false info. His plates
read TORANA........

Bit of history.

And yes, its going to a good home. Part of the reason she sold
it to me apparently!!

Happy to be in the yella car club too!

Cheers, Leakey

PS - just have to keep SLR5000 off my case to drop a 308 in it.

original, original, original...[chants]

hehe everyone has plates "torana" $20- and the motor museum!
I'ld say that would have to be the famed and now missing glenelg car park ( i admit i use to have fun there in my early days)
Keep the 6 in it nothing wrong with that, the only reason i put an 8 in mine is because it had that awfull start to life with the 4 in it, had to do something to perk her up.
I'll be watching the project to see what you do, im just so happy its gonna get some TLC :)
Have you named it, from my time hovering over it in a carpark i got the destinct feeling its a girl :spoton:

Hey great buy leakey!

If all it needs is a battery.. then $120 from super cheap auto will get it moving mate! Maybe ask if the owner would mind doing it for you.. I had to do that and a couple tyres to drive my SLR back home from melbourne :) What a road trip Was great!!

Maybe thats an option for you too.. I just got the bits ( bought some spares and tools.. didnt EXPECT to buy a car!) the battery and got a couple of roadworthy tyres on it.. and $60 permit for 3 days to drive home! I dont know how far it is, or how good your car is.. but if its drivable.. why not think about that!?

Cheers and good on ya! Look forward to another saved Rana!
