I'm moving to Brisbane next month and want to join a club and get to meet a few new Torrie heads. Is anyone here a member of the QLD car club and can tell me what its like? Ive seen their website and it all looks good but just was interested to hear any feedback.
Cheers!

P.S. I am VERY afraid of bringing my car to QLD. I feel a defect coming on.. I'm so used to the laws in SA and I find the police here really cool within reason. Once she gets defected I don't think she'll make it back onto the street. I see them QLD highway police in their red cars and freak out every time.
However, I'm an soooo excited about living within driving distance of Willowbank. I get shivers every time I think about. Finally a place to drag. It's going to be amazing having somewhere I can run my car twice a week.. kick arse!

As long as your car isn't to wild you should be right. Good luck with it

Really my problem is under the bonnet. Just lots of technical things missing or added on that are basically non-compliant. It would need way too much work to get through the pits. Gonna have to leave SA plates on and that's another issue.
But, really 99% of all cops are pretty decent and wont hassle you unless you give them a reason too and that's something I can control and will. Especially if there is a legal track to do it all at instead. All states really need to get a place that people can run their cars!
Cheers I look forward to meeting a few of you in a month or so.

Club runs are good as they vary for the Southsiders (me ), Northsiders (them ) and the Westerners (no smiley applicable for THAT mob ).
Club meetings are Southside in Springwood and usually get a good turn out.
Occasionally a club run is organised for Willowbank with a few members running and breaking their cars on the occasion.
Kids are welcome and overall it is a good social club.
I wouldnt worry too much about the coppers. So long as the car doesnt look unsafe or over the top you will be right. QLD'ers are generally 10 years behind so pollution gear etc is a fairly new concept to us.....
Willowbank isnt exaclty close by either, its a good hour plus drive from Redcliffe but definately worth the trip out there. Once my UC is rego'd Miss Big T and I will be out there racing. No doubt we will be fighting for who goes first too !!
Give us a hoi if you need any further info/help with the move. Im going thru the dramas of getting a 308 UC registered at the moment and aside from not having a demister yet I should be ok. I'll flick you a PM with more on that......

I look forward to joining the club. Damn, 1 hour or a bit more to the track is no worries. I cant believe they have test n tune twice a week. We really need AIR to open back up in SA. Dam law suits.
My car definitely doesn't look over the top and from what a few people have said I'm starting to relax about the whole thing. I guess with a bit of work I could probably get her through anyways.
Cheers all round
