Awesome little unit

I've seen one on Sydney roads almost get merged into by a idiot lady driving a big Toyota Kluger. Luckily I started beeping my horn because the owner of the mini didn't seem to have one.

that looks neat, but the interior isnt to my tastes.

i've had a '71 mini K, and a '63 estate wagon but no where near that nice.

I've seen this lil one on Ausmini, its a great looking car thats for sure and would be fun to throw around!!

My '62 850 tucked in the corner of the shed is a little down the restoration queue behind a couple of toranas before she sees the road again.

Hi Rory,

He did mention that to me, and he did say that he was negotiable on price.

Also he corrected me on how much he actually spent on the car, it was around the $40K mark.

Hi Dattoman, the body number is 517

I will get the engine number from him.

Lastly, if a moderator could move this to the correct section that would be great.

Yeah Jamie is on the money on this one...Its a genuine Coopers MK1...only prob is the deseaming on the bum of it, which is pretty easily fixed.....but other than that..its got the right numbers and origial engine number....so he will struggle with the asking price..sort of like a genuine L34 Vs a replica in price. We are back at that....Did I spend too much making it nice/close to the original unit.

I know where you are comin from but in my eye's though I wouldn't directly compare it to a Cooper S, (again I don't know much about Mini's only what he has taught me) it hasn't been painted in any original colour, the interior has been completely changed, as in the dash, seats, suspension etc, and it has a pretty wild driveline. If it had been painted British Racing Green with a White Roof and had the original Dash, seats and driveline then yeah it would be more like a replica.

I see it as a Genuine L34 Vs a Modified SL with Interior, wheels, suspension & driveline package.

At the end of the day, he just needs to find the right purchaser, and someone that is going to see it and want it as a modified Mini and not a Cooper S replica.

Personally I think he should just hold onto it and leave it with me :D while he is overseas.

I am sure I would have a good time driving it!

Wow that's cool! Love the interior :D

My mate had one exactly the same as that red Cooper S that was linked too, I'll see if I can dig out a pic.

Boys,
A good genuine Cooper S in Original condition pulls around $20K to $24K.
I have had dealings in the past year with 3 such cars.
They usually sell before being advertised publicly.
I've seen this silver car up close.
Nice work, But will struggle to get the money.
Most people who like that kind of modified car usually don't have the bucks ($$$),
And those with the money, chase genuine and original cars.
John.

Hi John,

You must have seen it recently? as it hasn't been out of the garage for a long time.

He currently has it at a workshop getting a pink slip and new steering rack.

We won one of the grass events at the Nats in it a few years back.
