Hi all,

Could u please give me as much info on this trans as possible

in the bell housing > 5258295 CAV No.2

on the id tag http://memimage.card.../2055221_54.jpg

serial no 0791189

what does 'CAL B' mean

what does K >>> O relate to

it should be a V8 trimatic

Kaz, the image is the pic of a 4 banger UC engine bay. If that's the trans I sold you, ask JNR ATE. I got it off him and decided not to use it, so sold it for what I bought it for.

If the input shaft is stepped at the end then its a 4/6 cyl one if its the same thickness all the way its V8. Also the bell housing on 4/6 one is fully round.

cheers for that, dont kno what is happening with image, when i click on it shows the id tag !!!!!!!!
I have pmd JNR ATE thanks chopper for that info.

My brother said from the numbers i should b able 2 trace a bit of history, so if anyone knows how 2 do this the help would be appreciated.

ps just inquisitive about the 'K >> O' bit on the id tag as that is my initials. :rockon:

Not an expert with autos by any means, but the K & O denote what engine the trans was intended for, and the Cal B is the valve body calibration number. "KO" is not listed in the Torana parts book, so it may be a Commy, or HG etc trans.

The code 'KO' is for a Tri-Matic out of a VB Commodore 4.2 V8.
