I am about to fit an A9X Scoop to the old girl as much as i dont want to i have been enjoying the view of the airfilter sticking out of the bonnet the last couple of weeks but it is definate cop bait.
I have been studying photos of cars with scoops i know that it sits right at the back of the bonnet but i was wondering if anyone can give me measurements for correct bolt holes locations.
If possible measurements from rear of scoop forward for the side holes and a measurement from front centre of scoop outwards for 2 front holes.
Also does anyone have a simple effective tidyup for where the main support of underside of bonnet is cut for airfilter clearance?
cheers Garth

Hope these are of some help. Poorish quality and colour is stuffed due to green carport roof. If you need anything more long these lines just ask.

I am not saying these are right, but they are how the scoop was marked when molded.

Hi mate, I used 10 mm S/S bolts BUT only because I used nutserts and that is the size Bruce had on hand.

For those that don't know, the best way to describe a nutsert that I know of it is to say it's like a pop rivet, you drill and then pop the nut into the bodywork with a tool that resembles a riveter, then just screw the allen head bolts in.

Cheers

You know your car better than me but looking at the tape measure I would say the allen screws are more like 8mm?

To be honest I never measured them but was assured they are 10 mm as that was the only size nutsert he had :) I have assumed 10. Umm I am not going to measure them as they work and thats good enough for me lol.

Have had my second bonnet sprayed black and then i mounted scoop without breaking/cracking anything came up looking the goods i reckon.
I have always got the original bonnet to put back on if i decide to go for fully original look but at present the view from driver's seat is pretty nice with the air cleaner sitting up nicely just under the top of scoop

Rodomo I still haven't measured my bolts up but can see what you are getting at then I look closely at the bold nearest the tape.
You may well be right, do I measure the head or the thread to get the correct size? I am not sure how allen bolts are measured.

Cheers

Do you smell any under bonnet fumes when under 60-80ks with the window down? My hatch used to but I'm hoping it was just the bad condition of the hatch rubbers.

I have owned two Torana's with bonnet scoops and I cant say I have ever noticed fumes or smell.
