Hey All
the old 308 can be a lil unhappy to start at times i think its the cam the comp etc when she's alil warm she cranks just that lil bit slow! So im wonderin what starters are out there ie gear reduction, high torque etc What should i go for? A mate mentioned that theres a guy doin an adapter plate to fit Sbc gear reduction starters to 308 or somthin :S Anyway really wanna get this girl crankin
Cheers

CVR make reduction gear starters for 308s, your other option is to get a starter off a VS onwards 5 litre.

I have the vs starter in mine & it cranks it like its got no spark plugs,a mate had the same starter in his hi-comp 355 with no problems & it use to kill the older style starters quickly.

Mate, just stick a Vn-Vs Hi torque in it, all will be bliss!

I'm using a V6 starter with a new V8 front housing and it spins it like no tomorrow plus its nearly 1/2 the size & weight of the old one.

I have the VS V8 starter motor on my red 308 10.5 comp and it turns the motor over fine. They are well priced to, i priced a Hi torque and nearly fell off my chair, it's not worth it.
