Also have my G-TECH and will try to get graphs up of various cars performance. Would love to stick it in Greg's car and see what g forces a car of that type can generate compared to our road type cars.
Here's two pics of mine with the Advan's and hotwires fitted.

Fairly sure that the lighter doesn't work in the race car! But i gave up the bungers about 15 years ago so I'm not sure?
If we can power it up from an auxillary fuse, then i would be happy to play "data collector" Think you will find though that the peak G-force won't be a lot different to what you will see in your car, as we are running the same rubber. The length of time that the g-force is sustained for is where there will be a big difference.
See ya's 2 morro.......

And to 82911, sorry about the stones. Went to Catalina on Sunday - obviously confused about which one was the rallycross track!

The start of the day looked like this.......
A few other cars........
Not a Torana, but nice, and fast!
It's amazing how much difference there is between a road tyre and a race spec tyre, as I found out after I flatspotted a tyre and had to put a road tyre back on. It was like being on ice by comparison.

Great event, and good to meet a few guys from the forum. Greg's car sounded amazing, and goes like a rocket. I was behind him round turn 2 and his front wheel was about 12" off the ground
Litre8 sounded like a fighter jet!!
I have a couple more videos from inside my car and will post soon.
My car now has no brakes, the pads disintegrated on the way home.

I like the vid.
The way the armco posts start accelerating past as you exit the pits
And a touch of P.B. with your arm on the door and one hand on the wheel.

We had 12 Toranas of various models, a CV8 Monaro, 5.7 ltr Elfin, VC Commodore Race Car, Alfa powered Open Wheeler, Porsche, Mustang and a super fast race mini at the track so there was plenty of race time for everyone.
Just a pity that all the "gunners" didn't turn up! Maybe next time. We're going to do it again sometime in the next 12 months so the licences we purchased will get some more use. Stay tuned.
Special thanks should go to the track staff at Wakefield who helped with our every need and allowed us to have a really great day.

Was an excellent opportunity to give my long suffering "pit bitch" Geoff Andrews a chance to have a run in the car. A car that has been very succesful and a lot of credit for that success goes to him... Thanks Mate.
The track time was fun, and it was good to get amongst the other Torana's and "play race" a bit. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. It was also interesting to see the smoke coming from tortured brakes and tyres particularly The XU1's. For anyone thinking that these guys just rolled around the track slowly........WRONG,WRONG,WRONG. They were giving it plenty. And in Genuine cars.... well done. From where i was seated you looked like racers to me.
Personal highlight, was the battle for 3 laps that I had with the Mustang in the final session. my on board lap timer read 1.09.2 secs which, for a track that was fairly dirty and a bit slipery was an absolutely awesome time!
Will be sad to say goodbye to the XU1 but i couldn't think of a better send off for the "old girl"
Look forward to the next time, and to those who didn't show up.....Make sure you do next time because you are missing out on an awesome day out.
Next toime I will be in a Walkinshaw.. Not an XU1..... hope I'm still welcome.
Cheers Greg..
