confimation on brake part

Hey all, can someone please confirm that all LH/LX 6cyl brake boosters and master cyl with front disc and rear drums are the same? thanks.

The master cylinders should be the same. I'm sure they changed with the UC when they went to metric threads. There could be two different boosters, the stock one and the V8 one. One is simply physically bigger than the other.

hmm so a LH wouldn't fit on a LX?

LH and LX master cylinders should be interchangeable. As I said, I think it was the UC when they changed the threads.

LH to mid LX are same master P7210
Late LX to mid UC are same master P7369
Late UC is different P10220

Then there are different boosters
LH and early LX have straight rod to pedal
Late LX and UX have bent rod to pedal
And there are a couple of versions of each

So my 77 LX would have a bent rod to the pedal? and a LH would not fit? is it possible to change the rods to make them fit?

The pushrod needs to be matched to the booster. Stick your head under the dash and have a look. There's a fair bend in it, so it does stand out a bit obviously.

Bugger that the boot is in the way. But it does look like the bent one to me. I have my booster out ATM, so I might take a pic of it later if it looks different.

Its not the boot thats in the way in that pic
Its the pedal
Looks more like a straight rod unit to me
However.....as it doesn't appear to be pushing straight I'd say someones fitted the wrong one at some stage.
By the looks of the pedal you should have the bent rod version in that car.
