Well its all done now, got a replacement part, turns out that it was not the thread but the wrong part in the wrong box, WTF?
Cheers for the advice ALX76, going to return the ones I have and get some from Amercian Autos. Better to be safe than sorry, besides the wrong part in the wrong box? Dodgy to say the least.
Cheers for the advice, I really appriciate it all, great site and great members.
Just love making these old girls drive like new, or better than new, nothing like it.

Just ordered my set, what brands are people using for Tie Rod ends? I am after the tie rod ends with castelated nuts and split pin.
I went and had a look at the TRW components over the weekend and all of there components are now made in Korea and have nylock nuts on them.
