i have been talking to an engineer bout putting 17x7 and 17x8 on my lc torana. the requirement is that the wheels cannot scrap at all

the test is to remove all the springs on the car and sit it on the bump stops and see if anything touches.

the problem i have is i dont know if this is possible and dont want to lay down my hard earned cash and find out they do.

has anyone tried this on an lc/j before?
or is anyone in SA able to lend me 17x8 torrie pcd to check?

make a dummy wheel out of mdf.

the wheel makers said they could send a dummy wheel over but then it might take a few times. prices add up for shipping

I was told 16's was the largest I could get engineered.

Old post but relevant to my situation having put a Hoppers kit on my lc I've had 20 years.
I love the OM1 Simmons wheels but the smallest diameter they come in is 17".
How'd you get on with yours or were 17s illegal in SA?

Easy peasy

Or you could look at something else that will fit in a 15 inch wheel.

I'm tempted to put a set of gold 20"s on the clubsport, still like the look of Simmons.

Rexy they do sit nicely. I'm running commodore pattern via a Hoppers kit so playing with size and offset math.

Thanks for the pic. Hope to see you 'round.
