already done, i just dont have any updated pics yet. All thats left to remove is that tar crap they used to weather seal around wiring and piping entering/exiting the firewall. Luckily no rust or anything, I pulleed back the carpet and the floorpan was shiney like it had just left Ford.

I used to know a guy that owned a wreckers that spacialized in Early Birds, was called SHOE BOX.. He owned a very nice XP or XM mini tubbed and windsor powerd...

Why the centura BW and not a 9inch or even 8 & 3/4 like they used on the early Ponys, was a comon diff for these projects..

John

A few reasons I went with the centura diff.

A) Price. $600 got me the entire diff assembly, suspension, shocks, 1 piece custom drive shaft.
B) its still a borg warner unit, and is quite reliable, in some cases handling 300hp or more. A friend ran 500hp through one, and the engine died before the diff. Ive heard of them getting destroyed by a 250 crossflow but only by people who wanted to sell me their product. Its come out of another XP, which already had a 302 in it, and its going behind one of similar power again.
C) Mine wont be under alot of strain. 215 width rubber isnt exactly going to give me incredible traction, any excess power is going to be venting right there, rather then the diff straining.

I'll probably fit a Lockrite ratchet locker into it, as the idea of 300hp and a single spinner doesnt appeal. Apart from that though, it should be fine.

Looking at the pics and noticed the "Weber". I've heard of people fitting "Webers"??? to their cars, and with a couple of extra packs of heat beads I reckon it would really smoke up those back tyres. My mate bought an XP years ago cos it had a white "Elvis Presley" steering wheel. They were a Classic car. Anyway, welcome aboard Sour and good luck with the project and keep us posted. Jimjet

Gotta love a windsor so much nicer looking than a clevo i reckon, a mate of mine is chasing one to slip into his XK sedan, would also be a kool cruiser.

The car in that photo is not actually mine, it was just used as a base for my colour scheme. My car is currently in a thousand pieces, although this weekend, new suspension and my Diff goes into the car.

Bossxp plate refers to the engine in this particular car, which is a Boss 302.
Mine was also going to be a Boss 302, and I have all the kit to do it, but I unfortunately cant afford the 5 grand for RRS suspension, which allows me to cut back the shock towers, and fit the engine. So for now, it will be a plain Windsor 302 block.
