the first thing that is interesting is the number Body-2819678,
in the parts book this comes up as

BODY SHELL-Less doors & deck lid (in Prime) - 82911.

Has someone done a legitimate re-body of an XU1? Send
the VIN tag info to hg350 to get a full confirmation of the
vehicle, looks like an interesting one

thanks gm3300, i did fire off a PM to HG350 earlier. Anything else you can tell me about the paint code, the engine code, and trim. i know the G95 is the 3.36 banjo, but that's about it at the moment...

the colour 13138 (1865) is Salamanca red, the dulux code
normally has 567 (acrylic lacquer) whereas this tag has
566 primer surfacer.
The 50x is the interior trim, Black in the "long grain" '73
pattern.

the primer paint and body in primer codes could mean it is a legit rebody back in the 70's or something?????

send a PM to Dr Terry, he might know how the replacement
bodies were stamped on the body plate.
Is the body stamped on the LHS inner guard?
It would be interesting to know how much a replacement body
was worth back in the 70's!

not sure grant, havn't seen it yet. am i right to presume that "XU-1" is the correct code for engine on the GMH plate for an authentic xu-1???

i might be wrong but i belive this is a spare part gtr{xu1} shell no 34 from adelade
but i belive this tag is suppost to be removed and the original tag fitted
on replacement of shell.
as insurace companies would replace the body rather than wright the car off back then
but hg 350 and dr terry would know a lot more about this

Sorry I have had a busy week and this is the first time I have looked in.

Could you please send pictures of the tags.

I am pretty sure that I have come across this replacement shell before, but last time it didnt have all the paint codes etc stamped into it.
