Some more specific deatails would be helpfull. I personally would fix the obvious things wrong with it and then take it to the RWC tester. Despite whatever may be posted here on what does and does not need fixing, it's up to the tester to give you the RWC. And if he says to fix something we reckon is OK, then fix it.

Nothing is really need to get a 253 through RW in a LH or LX (read no engineers cert needed) as long as it runs, blows no smoke, leaks no oil and isnt too loud u have no problems....

Did the car originally have a 253 engine in it or was it perhaps a 4 or 6 cylinder.

Also what state you want to register the car in would help.
Questions get answered a bit quicker when the state you live in is included in your tag line. ie saves at least one more question to be answered.

PCV System connected properly (not atmospherically vented) etc. I think he means.
