as a guess, most people buying them are over 40 and own their own house, or had them from young and have held onto them? Would i be right?

To Torana......I fit into that age bracket.... hey love the wheels on your picture ... instead of having an A9X though I have a LX SLR5000, 2 x SS hatches and a VK group A.... more cars for my buck...

im pretty close to punching 35 so it wont be long till im 40. Im pretty lucky, Ive almost paid my house off, have two nice toranas to work on ( ss and supercharged 253 ) also my daily driver is a vs series3 v8 commy ute with ss options. Plus I have no kids, But it was hard work to get here, Ive had to save allot and stick to a plan since i was a younger fella to pay of my house, but its going good for me.

I feel sorry for some of the younger guys these days, when i bought my house it was 100K now you cannot get much for under 300K in my area, and although house prices have frozen for a while, they will keep going up. Im not sure how you are meant to get ahead with a 300k loan, kids , a wife, bills, food, petrol, etc, etc.

Over 40 as well  Life is full of choices and compromises. I could afford one if i made some unpopular choices with the rest of the family. If you dont own a home or investment property you are better securing one of these first as they will out perform the cars in the long run. Only problem will be finding one for sale. If you have one and dont have to sell it then all the better as apart from finding one again, there is the problem of finding one the same. Longer term the replicas will follow the upward movement of the originals as people make compromises on lifestyle. At the end of the day they all rolled off the production line as Toranas. Some more desirable than others until the point of availability and affordability is reached :D
