Can anyone recommend what sealant or caulking as they call it should be used when re fitting rear tail lights on an LC.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

There are different grades of sikaflex that come in different colours and is paintable if necessary, It will seal no problem (prepare surface with metho) but you would probably have to cut them out with a stanley blade. A trip to repco or bunnings but read the tube before you buy. I wouldn't use any kind of silicone.

G'day bundy black
Try using Selley's "Di-Mastic" (industrial strength)
Forms a skin on top but stays soft underneath. I used it when I replaced my tail-lights.
This was recommended buy a panel-beater and windscreen specialist of long standing and experience.
If you use silicone, the next time you take out your lights, they will only come out in pieces or you will damage your car.
Regards..........................Barry.

Use common automotive window sealant, black as it sets well overtime and does not contain the acid base that is in silicone seals that eventually rust out the tail light sourrounds. My son is a spray painter and he uses sikaflex??
