There was a write up in AMC a few issues ago.
#05 was the good car, built with all the new bits, #10 was the car thrown together with the tired racing bits.
#05 died early (can't remember what i think it was engine failure?) So Brocky took over the #10 car.
Yes Brock managed 2 Hattricks. 72, 75, 78/79/80, 82/83/84, 87

It was a second car in which Brock was cross entered after 05 expired. AMC did a big spiel on it a few issues ago. It was a bitza car cobbled together and everyone was waiting for it to expire.
Yes he won with Jim Richards in 1978-1980 (A9X and VC) and again with Larry Perkins in 1982-1984 (in VH and VK).

They basically begged and borrowed for parts to get the number 10 car on the grid.
sponsorship commitments required a 2 car team. their cub sponsorship enabled to them to swap cartons of beer for parts with other commodore teams.
they were that broke, the drivers of car 10 were just told to go as hard as you can to make it look as good as you can before car 10 blows up.
car 10 blew up alright, blew up into history and folklore
interesting how the top European teams that season worked out a deal to turn a blind eye to eachother using illegal tyre sizes and fuel and such, but the Australians at bathurst dobbed them in,
so the two Texaco sierra's go scratched

Reading that article its ironic isn't it? i mean he says they were just sitting around waiting for 10 to die (and hoping it would do so quickly) and 05 dies and 10 ends up winning!.

1987 was my first trip to Bathurst.
Wandering around the pits on saturday night, the HDT Security Guards were adamant Brock would win, this was hard to believe after the difficult season he had endured, but he did it, even if it was in the cobbled together 2nd car.

Hi
Car ten must be a very lucky car as it was near destroyed when it left the track in practice, but for a gap in the fence that today would not be there.
