Looking like a huge turn out...I was banned from running slicks on a registered car so we have unregistred it for the weekend....CAMS bullshit.

Passed scruts no worries...Left hand caliper bracket is still not spot on so brought the car home and am building a new one as we speak...must have been pissed when I did it...its 5 mm out on one of the mount holes.

All will be good on the day.

Saw a VL sports sedan turn up today..its in blue with 15" slicks on it....and the driver is sitting on the left hand side!!  ...Had us stuffed too!..Probably in my class so unless he lunches a motor I am not at the top of class!

To counter the torque of the motor is my guess..drag race guys do it too

Bracket all made..perfect copy of the right one and all bolts up good..back on track....Think the sports sedan has a Chev in it...might have something to do with it..

Still got a problem...Its braking so hard its bending the brackets holding the calipers out allowing the Simmons nuts to graunch the caliper...I am sidelined for the time being...have to get the brackets made up in steel....We are trying to get it done tonight...if not I am stuffed.

F***,

Can you whack some HQ calipers on?
At least they'd get you through the meet.

I can not believe that you made a brake calliper bracket out of aluminium. How did it pass scrutineering? I hope the steel one is made out of a minimum of 10 mm plate.

12mm steel plate.....and nearly every sports sedan I know runs alloy adaptor plates for calipers..including the 600hp Chev VL next to me at the meeting..stick your eyeball under at the next meeting and check.

Howard..should be OK in the morning.
