G'day All,
The Brake Warning Light on my UC has started coming on just after start up. The strange thing is that the brakes feel the same. There hasn't been any reduction in braking performance. I have taken the wheels off and have checked for leaks, but there aren't any. Is there a way to check the Proportioning Valve ?.
Would it be possible for an air pocket to set off the warning light ??. If so, could just bleed out the system ...
Well, on the up side at least I know my warning light works !!.

Muchas.

If you have no leaks reset the switch by undoing it and unsrewing it - you should hear a click when it resets.

Yep, done that a few times... Even gave the switch a clean out with an electical solvent, but it is still coming on .

If there are definitely no leaks it may be time to change the switch/valve assembly. Do you have drum brakes on the back and are they adjusted up all the way?

They are drums on the rear, but I am unsure to the extent of the adjustment.
I will need to check it out this weekend .... thanks.

Out of my depth with this one, but isnt there a possibility of an internal master cylinder fault here rather than just an external leak?

Switch is actuated by pressure difference in the front and rear systems. This could be anywhere between the master and the wheels. Could also be an electrical fault.
