Hi Folks

I have a noisy CW+P in a 3.36 LSD. I have immediate access to a 3.08 LSD. What are the pros and cons to fitting the taller diff? I must admit I can't get used to 3000 plus RPM at highway speeds. IIRC my VT Commodore is less 2000 at the same road speed.

Any thoughts welcome thanks

The first thing is the 2 bottom bolts in the diff housing itself. the 3.36 has long bolts, and the 3.08 has short ones. if the 3.08 doesnt have the bolts with it then ull need to find them. Other than that its a simple swap over.
The taller diff will be slower off the line, and might use a little more fuel, although u probably wont notice its not that much of a difference.

Install the taller diff. Unless you're into dragging at every set of street lights or you're out on the strip, you don't need a diff that has your engine at 3000 rpm when cruising on the highway. Hell, get a 2.78 if you can! It will improve your economy not decrease it, and with petrol prices these days, that's a good thing.
