Congrats Keith

Yeah I agree with you about this issue... not worth buying... a bit disappointing.

A waste of almost 10 bucks.

I agree , disappointing compared to the last 2 issues, more Ads than stories as usual, do we really need page after page of telephone ring tone/screensaver ads.

That superbird falcon was good as was the very impressive MR HDT. I cant wait to see thta 6cyl HR in next months issue, and also the SUmmernat issue will be good!

I intentionally don't buy street machine commodores because I have a strong dislike for them, then they go and force the magazine on me :(

It was alright when I first started reading it, it definately is selling out with all the mobile phone ads, I understand that they want money from sponsorship, but they should at least get something relevant to cars.

I still enjoy looking at all the pics of cars though, some great photos in there.

the best thing I think in the mag is the longbeach customs magwheel on the new parts pages at the rear.
Check them out, old school GTS rims in alloy in 17 or 18 inch. Gotta get some 17's for my ss torana, i will be emailing them for some more info so stay posted.
cheers julian

I buy street machine every month. I don't really buy to many other mags and to me its good to see a varying array of cars, street ,drag, show. If you really don't like what's in it don't buy it. Unless you subscribe you can always walk into your newsagent and have a flick through first to see if its worthy. This issue is pretty good I thought. That twin supercharged Gemini is absolutely mad. I too dislike commodores but you see so many in shows and being done up its inevitable that they will find their way into the magazine.

As I said dont like it dont buy it. Just my fiddy cents.

Cheers SUPALJ

I second what SUPALJ said - it's always worth a read, there's bits and pieces of everything in Street Machine - I know the cars are mainly elite, but it's great for ideas and inspiration. I think they run good tech articles (from time to time), and I always enjoy reading the regular tech columns etc, as well as catching up on the latest gossip. Awesome photos of cars and events from all over Australia, and occasionally the world. For under $10 for such a jam-packed mag, I reckon it's dirt cheap really. You don't get much for ten bucks these days. "Shed Machine" - yeah true, but still very cool!

I don't think it will be very long before all these type of mags do hit $10, and I can already hear the outcry! But won't stop me from getting it.

By the way, congrats Keithy! I noticed the car and wondered if it was you!

Cheers.

I enquired about these rims at the Summernats 2006. 15 x 7 was availbale in Torana pattern. I got the impression they can be custom made to any size, stud pattern and off set.

For those that don't read SM, there is a paragraph near the front stating the torana that was stolen along with a tow truck at summernats has been recovered. Unfortunately, it became a paddock basher during it's little excursion.

Bloody scumbags.

The Torana & Tow truck were stolen from a motel near the Nats and later recovered only to be stolen again from the holding yard.

Yes recovered again after the bush bashing, the tow truck still hasnt been sighted yet.

you can always walk into your newsagent and have a flick through first to see if its worthy.

Not any more, the ones at Coles now are in sealed plastic bags.

I mainly only check out what is in the fit and fiddle anyway.

I used to buy them in the 80's and when you've seen one overdone nice car you've seen them all.

I read (here I think) that the engine work/internals were usually made up to advertise parts.

I also know one guy who runs a business who was interviewed and they edited his story and made up things that he didn't say.
