Help me decide on what rims I should get for my LX hatch :)

15's or 17's. The rim and tyre combinations are;

Front 17"x7 with 225 or 245/40/17
Rear 17"x8 with 265/40/17

Front 15"x7 with 225 or 245/55/15
Rear 15"x8 with 265/55/15

8" is slightly illegal :) but I can live with that

Extra info:
Simmons rims
B45 front 7" = $629
rear 8" = $654
FR17 x 7" =$674
17 x 8 = $700
Prices each incl GST Painted centre/polished outer
We usually do Torana wheels as 0 offset, HOWEVER, these cars are quite old now and usually modified so each car should be measured to ensure correct fitment.

Cragar 641 Series Super Star 15x8 $310.00ea
Cragar 641 Series Super Star 15x10 $325.00ea

My vote is for 15" Cragars. I reckon 17's look silly on a Torana, but just my opinion. Personal favourite is GTS rims made into 15x7 and 15x8 or 15x10, with painted centre and chrome rim. Also live ultra blue. My BO6 pack Overlander was originally that colour - looks great.

I reckon the 17's suite flared Torana's, but definitely not unflared though! :spoton:

17" simmons ,15" rims are for bogans or convos (the exception)

or you could get some hotwires or gts wheels and a missus named shazza and the transformation would be complete :)

Front 15"x7 with 225 or 245/55/15
Rear 15"x8 with 265/55/15

I run, 15x7 on the front with 225/50/15 (Don't think you can get a 55 Profile)

and on the rear i run a 265/50/15 (Same deal, not sure of a 55 profile)

If you are going to run big wheels though, on a flared car, you have to get 10's on the back!!! You need DISH!

Depends on the money you have, $immons FR17 are great for the custom offsets and stud patterns and you can fit in bigger brakes. :D

Pretty sure b45's dont come in 17" but none of those wheels really grab my attention. Yeah they are all nice wheels, but been done alot on torana's before. Depends if you want to modernise the look a bit or if you want the old school toughie look.

15" rims are for bogans

And what's wrong with being a bogan? :spoton:

Mine has 15x8 front with 225/50s and 15x10 rear with 265/50s:

Sorry Simmons rims are 16"

I'm starting to lean towards the Simmons rims.

Now question TWO.

What spacing/offset should I go for? As it appears that Simmons can make almost any back spacing/offset
I want to fill the flairs as much as possible.

Some things to consider:

My diff is the standard width with OEM discs etc
Front end is std width and will have 290mm hopper stoppers :)

I can change the tracking by a maximum of 25mm

the hoppers kit will push out ur front 8mm per side, i had my wheels measured up so they would fill the flares up as much as possible

In the pic above I have the Hoppers 290mm kit on the front with 4.25" back spacing on 8" rims. The rear end is R31 Skyline Borg Warner diff (10mm wider per side than standard) with 10" rims modified to 5.25" back space. Everything fits and looks nice. I have absolutely no idea what its like in relation to the original track, I imagine the rear must be a lot more than 25mm wider.
