are lc /lj sumps the same as the lh - uc?

last time i put a lh motor in my lj it was the same....

As far as I know, LC and LJ sumps are unique and differ from LH-UC.

well they look similar, at a glance i would say it was the same, ive got a mate comming over to help with the engine swap, and need to utilise his time, and not have to stuff around with the sump, i suppose the best thing to do would be use the one off the 161,

LH-UC dose not fit LC/LJ at all. Has a step in it at the back of it which make the sump sit forward and will hit the x member. A LC/LJ sump will fit LC-UC. If you want the pics, send Freg, a PM for them. He found out the hard way

The gasket should be the same, cause its just a red holden 6. The actual sump will be different in shape though.

i thought it was hq that was biased slighty toward the front??? motor in my car now is out of an lx and it fits fine....

Hey Bomber Watson <_< we had this discussion last year when i had just put 186 out of LH into LJ and was needing to cut the frontend to fit it :furious: instead we pulled it out fitted LJ sump and whalah :rockon: fits much better :clap: as said b4 yours must already have come from LC/LJ
