Anyone know what brake line fittings are legal. Hopefully Dattoman will be willing to help here or possibly andy.

I want to make up some custom fittings to go through the chassis rails and was planning to use a JIC or JIS type fitting but have a feeling that these are not legal for some reason.
You can buy AN type ones but i havent found any long enough for the torana engine bay rails.

If i eventually sus it out and others want some I can probably get machined up at the same time.

do you think they would be legal in WA?

unfortunately the w.a. DOT is not very helpful, i have asked the question before and they werent to happy on screw on type fittings, also i wasnt allowed to run them through the cab of the car, its just one of those things and when you ask why not, they just say "dont know"

The chassis rail below the booster is 65 mm so the 2.5" may just fit. The 3" should not be a problem.

The NCOP does not specify the type of brake fittings to use, looks like it is a question for the engineer.

I am still undecided which way I will go. If I can bend the stainless line around the chassis rail and get it to look right then it is a lot simpler than going through the rail which will result in four joints.

Another option is to go through the rail using the stainless bundy tube and rubber grommets then flare the ends on the car. You would have to cut the brake line to remove it but I do not see that as a big problem.

i have had the guards smoothed for quite some time and yes have had bundy tube going through grommets in the rails. dont have to cut to remove just make the cole bigger than the nut.

I just dont like the idea of fitting lines through something without doing it properly e.g bulkhead fittings etc
I will ask rod when i get him to come around and do the seat belt mounts in the tubs and will keep everyone informed. I can understand them not allowing the running of pressure lines inside the car.

running my fuel and trans lines inside the chassis will be done with S/S bulkheads and tube, will look good but expensive
