My Old LC GTR

we purchased a scanner the other day & thought I would start sharing some old pictures.

This was my second Torana, I had it about 22 years ago, I never knew much about a GTR back then & just wanted something that looked the goods & was fast, boy was this baby quick!

I purchased the car with all modifications already done, nobody new back then that they would be so collectable. Anyway the car had extensive work done to the motor & was a stroker, hence its nick name "The Stroke" I did not name the car this was already done by previous owner.

Unfortunatley car was stolen & I do not have any pictures before that time, but I can tell you she looked very hot & was incredibly fast.

Sydney people may have seen this car around, I mean with the stroke painted on re spoiler lets just say I had many cars wanting to challenge me at the lights, cars that come to mind that were blown away by may baby included 351 falcon's many rotary mazda's

I posted these pictures as the car was sold to a fellow named Bill & he was going to restore it, hope the car is around somewhere.

I have a few more pictures of other Toranas I have had that I may post.

haha, stolen torana's, i had 3 stolen between '83 and 1990. They were always popular for thieves.
My last one had electronic ign adapted from the hemi so i could remove bits off that, alarm, steering lock, and fuel lock - they still tried to take it but in the end gave up and filled the 175's with dirt and put decent scratch on the guards.
I wasnt so lucky with 2 previous ones, never to be seen again, i wonder if they still kicken around?????

well you are one up on me mate, I had two stolen between those years however I did get both back unfortunatley both were going to be very expensive to fix.

Both people who stole my cars were caught, but would'nt you know it they were both unemployed & I got stuck with the debt & they never gave me one red cent towards repairs.

The guy who stole my XU-1 I did purse legally for a short time but gave up on advice from the lawyer I was using! He said it was going to be a big waste of time & money

any wonder there's so many gtr's and xu-1's getting around with part plates, you could almost guarentee that they have been rebirthed.
I guess the rta records were pretty poor back then so there's no way of ever knowing.
Hows this for a lucky story, the car that they nearly stole suffered a worse fate about 18mnths before. It was stolen from my place and id given up on finding it after 2weeks. My g/f at the time was travelling to work by train and noticed a torana parked in a side street looking like mine. I went there and sure enough it was!
They took out the alarm, bolt cut the steering wheel but the thing that stuffed them up was that id taken the guages out the night before to have them recalibrated so it ran out of fuel!
