What would be the value of an unmolested genuine 5L SS be worth in restored condition, Hubcaps and all?
An unmolested L31 SS would be pretty rare wouldn't they!!!

I'm guessing between $10,000 and $15,000, but its only a guess without seeing the car, picks of the restoration may help it value, as will a good history, what colour is it?

I know of two people selling LX SL/R 5000's, I have met both the owners & seen one of the cars in the flesh.

Both owners have started the sale at $35,000, now a genuine L31 SS Hatch would have to be up there with a similar starting price would'nt it?

Not sure if they will both get their $35k asking price I hope they do, but I would say they would be looking at around $25K at present.

Is it all matching numbers including engine? Can you post some pictures?

mmmm.. Price of a genuine SS 5.0L???

I use the philosophy that it's worth whatever the next person is prepared to pay..

As the owner of an SS (albeit 4.2L), I have been interested in what they are being sold at.

It's interesting to note that one particular white SS model that was for sale around Aug 05 was advertised for $25,000. It was a 5.0L, 4spd (tagged auto from memory), that was advertised "in original" condition.
That car was sold for $28000!! I know because I spoke to the new owner. Now how often do you see a car sell ABOVE the asking price?
I have to say though, as someone who knows a bit about SS's, I was a little dissappointed in the minor details of the car, ie wrong spoiler, wrong radio, broken switch panel, etc. IMO if I was spending that much, I'd want the car to be alot closer to concourse condition.

I suppose alot of the increase in price of the SS 5.0L's is because the price of SS A9X's are just beyond the reach of 99% of ppl. That and the fact that unmolested, original examples are getting few and far between, ahs added to there popularity.

I for one, don't really give a flying one as to what my car is "worth". To me it's priceless and unreplacable (as probably your car is to you). Probably the only negative I can see in all of this is the fact that the rising price has put our cars in the spotlight when it comes to thieves. It's a damn sight easier to boost a Torana that say a WRX!!

Anyway, enough of my thoughts, and as for the initial question...
between $10 - 15K in fair condition..
between $15 - 20K in good condition, and
between $20 - 25K in concourse condition..
is what I would see as realistic

cheers
Mick

What if, say hypathetically, I had a "brand new one", in the condition just as it would have been as it rolled off the factory floor? perfect? What would that be worth?
