Hi

Also considered at the same time as "Torana" were the invented names "Berina" and "Barina". If history had taken a different course we would have had the "Barina GTR XU-1" or the "LX Berina A9X".

but in all honesty, no one would care, I doubt a name would have made much difference. Barina (without the connotations it currently has ie small girly car) isnt that bad of a name.

Better then the toyota "kluger" sounds like that turd that just wont quit dangling... "ohh man ive got a kluger"

So instead of "Beep Beep Barina", we would have gotten "toot toot torana" for a girlie car !!

Doesn't bother me, I have thick skin and know a TA is viewed as a reject child in the Torana family.
Did think this was a Torana community forum for all owners though that didn't encourage bagging other's cars.
As for the skirt, I don't have one, you may have to lend me one of yours. :-)

your prolly better off searching for the juvinille detention centre "torana" that would prolly give more info.
you know how governments have to put in a 300 page report of why they called it that.

found an artical on woomera detention centre and found this

"The Immigration Department says 22 people have been treated for dehydration today.

Asylum seeker lawyer Torana Hassan, says the hunger strike by over 200 detainees will continue.

"Processing has to occur in a given period of time, not waiting around, you know, for three months," she said.

Ms Hassan says several detainees tried to kill themselves last night."

does the name "torana hassan" raise an eyebrow to you??!?

Don't really get the relevance of ^ but I will expand on it anyway

XB bonnet vents, not XA

More importantly, page 1-77 of the GM-H LH TORANA Workshop Manual, RHS half way up

I saw a LX with the number plates 2FLYLX in mac fields, and i thought it was a bit wankerish, as in 'pretty fly for a white guy' sorta thing. I understand now. But still not a big fan of it.
